Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. ~Melody Beattie

Being that it is only a couple days until Thanksgiving, I thought I would write a brief post to share with you what I am thankful for this year.

(these are in no particular order, and my list could really go on and on, but to save you from being here all day, I’ll keep it fairly brief…)

-my family…all who i miss very much, but am ever so grateful for their love, prayers, support, and ecouragement!!

-God’s provision, blessings, protection, direction, comfort, and never ending love

-modern technology to keep in touch with all of you while I’m living on the other side of the world

-wonderful teachers who speak English, support my ideas, and enjoy visiting over a hot cup of tea

Inessa, Anna, Me

-fellow American teachers/friends/sisters here in Moscow

Lydia, Lindsey, Kristin, Sarah, Me, Amber, Irina
Jen, Steph, Me

-Young Adults group/family to meet with each week in prayer, worship, and fellowship.

-Thomas–for his daily love and encouragement, despite the fact that I moved even further away from him.

so thankful to have him in my life

-my students, although they can be nearly impossible, they never cease to surprise me with a hug, and sweet or silly words/senarios that make this all worth it!!

love them more each day

-coffee..’nuff said!

-and this opportunity to live and work abroad in which I am daily challenged and grow in my faith, seeing God in ways I never expected.

As I said, this list could go on and on..I am truly grateful for so much, and take way too much for granted!! It will be so strange not going home for Thanksgiving, and greatly missed. It is one of my favorite holidays and times with all the family together. But I look forward to our Thanksgiving celebration/feast here among the other American teachers.Β  We are granted Friday off, giving us a long weekend and all day to cook/bake. It is a tradition for the American teachers to put together a Thanksgiving meal and then invite some of our co-teachers to join us.

What are you thankful for this year?Β  How often do you remember to express your gratitude to your friends, family, and God? Let us not limit our grattitude to one day a year, but make each day a day of thanksgiving!! I pray you all have a blessed Thanksgiving…all the way from Moscow, Russia!!

ps..Mom: you can add my list to the table cloth, πŸ˜‰
