4 days. 5 states. Worth It!

Two weekends ago, Tommy and I woke up early and hit the road. Our West Virginia road trip was on!  We were heading up there to do some camping and attend Amber and Grant’s wedding.

The wedding was lovely, and I am so happy for the beautiful couple.  I’m so glad we were able to be part of there special day.  It was great to be able to see some of the girls from Russia as well, and have a little reunion before we all go our separate ways again.

After a long 12 hour drive on Friday, Tommy and I arrived at Sand Springs Campground near Morgantown, WV where we were staying.  The camp ground was nice and back in the woods which provided plenty of shade and shelter.

There wasn’t a lot to do there, but we were just a few miles from Cooper’s Rock which provided plenty of great hiking trails that we took full advantage of Saturday morning. The trails were challenging, beautiful, and filled with wildlife.

By the afternoon, it was getting pretty hot and we were both tired, so we went into town for a movie. When we returned to our campsite we were both pretty hungry, so Tommy got the fire going and we grilled supper before calling it a night.

Sunday was filled with caterpillars and ‘church’, card games, lunch with the girls, and topped off with the wedding.

Then, of course Monday came along and the dreaded drive had returned.  We hit the road and headed back to Arkansas.  Both Tommy and I love the outdoors, so this trip and location was right up our alley.  I can guarantee it won’t be the last camping trip we take together, 🙂
