Eating our way across the states {Pizza}

I love homemade pizza!! It really might be my favorite thing to make. For sure it is my go-to meal. If the fridge and pantry are looking bare, I can always scrounge around enough to throw together a pizza.  The topping options are endless!

Now that Tommy and I live in the same town, we have decided to designate Friday as our Pizza Night!  Sure there will be weeks that we do a basic pepperoni or beef pizza, but for the most part, we’ll be having fun experimenting with our own unique topping combinations.

With this new tradition, we are also setting a goal for ourselves.  About a year ago, the Food Network came out with America’s Top Pizza, one restaurant per state, and chose each restaurant’s most popular pizza.  Some of these pizza’s are pretty basic, while others are extremely unique.  So Tommy and I decided we’re going to recreate our own version of each of these pizza’s based on our limited knowledge of the toppings.

In order to keep track of which we’ve made and limit a bad case of indecisiveness, we have decided to simply go in alphabetical order state by state.  This list of pizzas include everything from Classic Hamburger to Gumbo. It will sure be interesting, but we’re excited to make our way through the list!!  Maybe someday we’ll get around to each state and try the original pizza to compare our recreations, 🙂

I can’t wait to start this adventure tonight and eat our way across the states, one pizza at a time!!  Stay tuned to hear all about pizza number one and get the recipe right here!!!!! In the meantime, I have to go get ready for a Sub job–Middle School Math this afternoon. Say your prayers for me and wish me luck!! 🙂
