Pizza #15: Iowa

Do ya’ll remember our Delaware pizza?  It involved crab meat.  Does that ring a bell? Well, the crab meat has returned to this week’s pizza toppings.  However, it’s involved in a totally different combination of toppings this time around.  This week it was creamy, it was crunchy, and a liiiiiitle bit spicy.  Are you curious yet??2013-03-08 17.02.04This week’s pizza, Crab Rangoon, came from Iowa.  It is a riff on cream cheese and crab fried dumplings.  Have you ever had this classic Chinese-American appetizer? I can’t say that I have, but if this pizza was anything like them, I just might have to find a place that serves them and give it a try.2013-03-08 16.33.03Our pizza crust is first spread with cream cheese, topped with imitation crab-meat  green onions, chow mein noodles {to replace the crunchy egg-roll strips on the original pizza}, more cheese, and drizzled with sweet chili sauce.2013-03-08 16.49.53I honestly wonder sometimes how people come up with these different pizza toppings and combinations.  But let me tell ya, I’m not going to complain because the finished product almost always manages to be soooo scrumptious!  I’ve always said I could eat pizza almost every day and not get tired of it  and this is exactly why!  Their are SO many different outcomes available to keep your taste buds satisfied!!!

This Crab Rangoon Pizza is no different. The unique approach for this pizza was a satisfying one, 🙂2013-03-08 17.05.53
