Favorite Granola Bars

I love granola bars, but I hate buying them.  Therefore, I have been dabbling with some different recipes trying to find out some different ingredients that work well together. I’ve been trying to find the perfect “glue” so they aren’t too crumbly, but also not too hard.  Some I’ve shared with you, others I haven’t  because I was not impressed with how they turned out….too crumbly, too dry, too much honey flavor, too hard….2013-06-03 14.21.57Well friends, I think I finally did something right.  My husband took a bite and said, “These are good! These are the best you’ve made yet!”

The secret??

Sweetened Condensed Milk!!2013-06-03 14.21.47Seriously, it works great, and tastes great.  And it is so easy!!  This recipe in general is very easy and can conveniently be altered to suit the taste preference of those eating them.2013-06-03 14.21.07I like to fill my granola bars with nuts, seeds, fruit, coconut, and fiber….and sometimes a little chocolate for extra sweetness, 😉 You’ll notice the ingredients are fairly similar to those in my Nut and Berry Granola Bar recipe. But the variations are seriously endless that these bars are perfect for everyone!2013-06-03 14.20.54They’re quick.  They’re easy.  They’re delicious.
